5 COCKTAILS YOU NEED TO TRY IN NYC
So, you’re thirsty. You’ve come to the right place. One of the best features I’ve found from using Outro is that it constantly is introducing me to bars I would have never found otherwise bringing me a totally unique assortment of new experiences.
1. The Sharkeye
Mother of Pearl - East Village, Manhattan
95 Avenue A, New York, NY 10009
Not only is this drink absolutely delicious, but the way it’s served is the perfect conversation piece. Normally, I’m not a bourbon fan but who knew it mixed so well with a fresh passion fruit base? This isn’t the typical fall drink but it will absolutely make you reminisce on all the flavors of summer. The drink comes out in a shark shaped glass worthy of its own ooo's and aahh's. The server then sprinkles a ruby-red maraschino cherry glaze on top of the shark to add even more flavor, literally and figuratively. This is the perfect cocktail to order on a first date, giving you plenty of content to talk about for the rest of the night.
2. The Pumpkin Head
Candle 79 - Upper EAST Side, Manhattan
154 E 79th St, New York, NY 10075
If you are familiar with that inner warmth that can only be achieved during late October, when you feel a crisp breeze kindly creep through your window but you don’t care because you’re too cozy under your blanket/turtle neck combo, then you’ll like this drink. It is liquid fall. The pumpkin and cinnamon combo and rock vodka gives this drink a flirty undertone. It’s enough for you to want to curl up next to a fireplace and sip on it all night- or just order a couple more with dinner.
3. The Blueberry
Mono + Mono - East Village, Manhattan
116 E 4th St, New York, NY 10003
Found in a bar that doubles as a flower shop during the day, this blueberry drink is topped with a full floral arrangement. Perhaps the prettiest drink in NYC, this cocktail tastes like a luxurious jam. This is a romantic drink in a romantic spot. I went on a second date, and even though I won’t remember the guy, this drink will stick with me forever.
4. House Zombie
Cienfuegos - East Village, Manhattan
95 Avenue A, New York, NY 10009
There is a lot going on in this drink. Between the 3 year El Dorado, cinnamon, lime, and grapefruit, this cocktail truly takes your tastebuds for a ride. The tropical flavor is enough to make you nostalgic for a beach- but the atmosphere of Cienfuegos will make you happy you’re hear instead. The pale pink walls, colorful bar, dim lights, and incredible drinks make this spot truly special for a visit with the girl friends or on a date. Not only will everyone be impressed by the drinks, but you’ll also score some major points for finding this chic whole in the wall.
5. By Any Beans Necessary
The Winslow - East Village, Manhattan
243 E 14th St, New York, NY 10003
This drink is the perfect caffeine kick and buzz to get you through that late night date, Saturday pregame, or after work happy hour. While this brown bad boy might not be the most ~aesthetically~ pleasing drink you’ve ever had- the cinnamon, cold brew, and vanilla blend perfectly with the Guinness and Montenegro making all your friends extremely jealous. This drink is a great transition from summer into fall. You’ll find comfort in the cold brew but great fall undertones in the cinnamon.
